Quantora BB Grid MT5 — Stock Grid EA Setup Guide, Inputs & Backtest Results

How Quantora BB Grid MT5 applies Bollinger Band and RSI grid trading to individual stocks and stock CFDs, why it uses percentage spacing and swap-adjusted targets, what the inputs control, and the MSFT, GOOGL and LLY backtest figures.

By Hardik K Chapla — builder of the Quantora Robots MetaTrader Expert Advisors and indicator.

Quantora BB Grid MT5 is a grid Expert Advisor built for individual stocks and stock CFDs rather than forex or Gold. Entries come from a Bollinger Band mean-reversion condition confirmed by RSI; the grid, stop loss and take profit are all expressed as percentages so one configuration scales from a $20 stock to a $2,000 stock; and the take profit is swap-adjusted so overnight costs never quietly erode the target. It is sold on the MQL5 Market and tracked on the Long Term Position Trading portfolio on Myfxbook.

Why stocks need a different grid

Most grid EAs are tuned for forex or Gold and then pointed at stocks with no real adjustment. That fails for three reasons the EA is built around: swap costs accumulate meaningfully on the longer holds stock grids produce; spreads vary widely between tickers; and price levels span from single digits to thousands, so a fixed-point grid is meaningless. Percentage-based spacing, a swap-adjusted profit target, and per-symbol, per-magic-number isolation address each of those directly.

How it behaves on a chart

When price reaches the Bollinger Band zone and RSI confirms, the EA opens a position and then adds to it on a percentage grid as price moves further. Breakeven and trailing stop can be switched on independently, a spread filter and trade cooldown block poor-execution moments, and the whole grid has a combined profit target and an optional basket stop loss. Because everything is scoped to its own magic number, it can run on several stock charts at once or alongside other EAs without any crossover in stats.

Backtest results (published on the product page)

Full Strategy Tester reports are published for three large-cap US stocks, $5,000 deposit each:

  • MSFT — 19 trades
  • GOOGL — 23 trades
  • LLY — 17 trades, no losing trades in the test
  • A per-symbol summary of win rate and drawdown sits on the product page alongside the live Myfxbook figures

What the inputs let you change

  • Entry filter — the Bollinger Band and RSI conditions, configurable per stock to suit its volatility
  • Grid geometry — percentage spacing between levels, percentage stop loss, percentage take profit
  • Swap-adjusted take profit — keeps the real net target accurate however long a position stays open
  • Lot progression — linear or exponential as the grid scales in
  • Basket controls — combined profit target and optional basket stop loss
  • Breakeven and trailing stop — independently toggleable
  • Execution safeguards — spread filter and trade cooldown
  • Dashboard — open positions, average entry, floating/realised P/L, drawdown, profit factor and win rate, scoped to this EA only

Requirements and recommended use

  • MetaTrader 5 on a hedging-enabled account — the EA opens multiple simultaneous positions per symbol, so netting-mode accounts are not supported
  • One chart per stock you want to trade
  • Check your broker's spread and swap on the specific tickers before going live — both vary a lot between brokers
  • Start with a small lot and watch the EA on your broker's conditions for that ticker; adjust inputs per stock to match its typical volatility
  • Grid strategies can see extended drawdowns in a sustained trend — the basket stop loss exists for exactly that
