Quantora Smart Grid MT5 — Setup Guide, Inputs & Backtest Results

How Quantora Smart Grid MT5 trades Gold, what each input group controls, the published backtest figures, and the exact settings to start with on a live XAUUSD chart.

By Hardik K Chapla — builder of the Quantora Robots MetaTrader Expert Advisors and indicator.

Quantora Smart Grid MT5 is a fully automated Expert Advisor built only for XAUUSD (Gold) on MetaTrader 5. It is a buy-only grid system: instead of spacing positions a fixed number of points apart, it adapts the grid distance to current Gold volatility, sizes each additional position by a progression you choose, and closes the whole basket at a profit target that recalculates as the grid grows. It is sold on the MQL5 Market and tracked on a public Myfxbook account.

How it behaves on a chart

The EA opens an initial buy position, then adds further buys at intervals as price moves against that entry. Because the interval is tied to live volatility, the grid sits wider apart on a fast, choppy Gold session and tighter on a quiet one — so the same settings behave consistently across different market conditions instead of only working in the regime they were tuned on.

Once the combined floating profit of all open positions reaches the basket target, everything closes together. Single positions can optionally trail a stop instead. There is no hedging and no sell side — the strategy only ever holds buys, which keeps margin use and exposure easy to reason about.

Backtest results (published on the product page)

Two Strategy Tester runs are published in full on the product page, both on XAUUSD H1:

  • $10,000 deposit — +$17,614.35 net profit over the test period (the headline banner)
  • $5,000 deposit — 1,130 trades, with the full equity curve, statistics table and entry-timing breakdown by hour, weekday and month
  • Live, verified figures (profit factor, max drawdown, total gain) are pulled from the Myfxbook account and shown on the product page — those are the numbers to judge it on, not the backtest

What the inputs let you change

Every input has a plain-English description inside the MetaTrader inputs tab. Grouped by what they control:

  • Position sizing — the starting lot, and whether additional grid positions scale linearly (add a fixed amount each level) or exponentially (multiply each level). Exponential recovers a basket faster but grows risk much more aggressively; linear is the conservative choice
  • Grid spacing — the volatility-adaptive distance between grid levels, and how many levels the grid may extend to. This is the single biggest lever on drawdown
  • Basket take profit — the combined profit at which the whole grid closes, recalculated as levels are added
  • Trailing stop — optional, for when only a single position is open
  • Basket stop loss — optional hard ceiling on floating drawdown, in $ or % of balance, that closes the entire basket. Strongly recommended live
  • Price range filter — optional, restricts new entries to a price zone you define
  • Dashboard — what the on-chart panel shows: current grid level, balance, floating drawdown, distance to the next level, active basket

Recommended setup

  • Symbol: XAUUSD (Gold) — the EA auto-adapts to your broker's Gold quote format
  • Timeframe: H1
  • Minimum recommended deposit: $5,000
  • Account type: ECN, Standard and most broker account types
  • Start with the default inputs on a demo account, then reduce the starting lot or tighten the basket stop loss before going live if the drawdown profile is more than you want

Where to buy and how it's verified

Quantora Smart Grid MT5 is sold exclusively on the MQL5 Market, which includes a free demo version you can run in the Strategy Tester before purchasing. The live account behind it — the Scalping portfolio on Myfxbook — has auto-update enabled, so the published numbers cannot be hand-edited. The product page links to both.
